The Mundus Group, Inc. (MNDP) is an advanced aerospace technology consortium providing patented Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) technology for experimental aircraft and Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV) since 1980 through its fully owned subsidiaries AirStar International and Roadable Aircraft Inc (RAI).

July 15, 2009 – Mundus Group, Inc announces the acquisition of AirStar International (AirStar) as a fully owned subsidiary. The completion of this highly regarded acquisition will allow Mundus Group to expand AirStar with new divisions in lucrative niche markets. It is expected that these new divisions will provide several new revenue streams from anticipated business, which AirStar International has previously developed and flourished among the UAV VTOL elite by word of mouth for over 25 years.

Josef Obermeier, President of the company, commented, "We are focusing several new divisions that will increase revenue streams and provide market driven sales and services in distinct industry segments and unique business areas. Mundus Group is currently in negotiations with US and Canadian based technology providers and target agencies for service contracts and major orders of turnkey solution. Mundus Group as parent company is in discussions with Dealership / Franchise partnerships and attracting the funding to provide expansion with 4 dedicated businesses including, Air Intel Systems Aerial Surveillance, Search & Rescue UAV 4 Life, Green Planet Environmental Testing Solutions and AirStar Productions Aerial Cinematography, with other divisions to be announced.

AirStar International has defined lucrative niche markets in UAV VTOL services and sales and Mundus Group is committed to this departmental expansion necessary to fulfill AirStar’s remarkable legacy as UAV innovator extraordinaire.

Mundus Strategy

Mundus Group is expanding and designating several new divisions to provide a focused and market driven environment to capitalize on each of AirStar’s previously defined business areas.
Several of these VTOL UAV applications are untapped and without competition in lucrative markets that suggest that exponential growth potential is possible with a focused separation of target markets with specific innovative products. Mundus Group will begin with business applications, which will be advertized, industry targeted and prospected for including:

  • Aerial VTOL UAV photography for Movie production AirStar Productions
  • Aerial VTOL UAV Surveillance for law enforcement Air Intel
  • Aerial VTOL Search & Rescue for fires and disasters AirStar UAV 4 Life
  • Aerial EPA Compliance delivery systems Air Enviro Comp
  • Aerial Weather warning systems AirStar Weather Systems

Mundus through AirStar and Roadable Aircraft is at the cutting edge of jet turbine–ducted fan technology and fuses a state of the art design engineering and prototype facility with computer assisted auto flight technologies, Remote Controlled (RC) and composite technologies industry segments. From US Navy co-developed UAVs for aerial observation and environmental testing to advanced VTOL aerospace technology for civilian and military uses, Mundus Group, Inc. is developing revolutionary products with global potential for change that offers economic protection and growth opportunities for investors.

Roadable Aircraft International is a Delaware Corporation formed in January 2000. However the conception of a small vertical takeoff and landing VTOL vehicle has been under research and development by RAI’s founders since 1990. The Mundus Group feels the time is right for the acceptance of a dual mode vehicle, an alternative transportation that would ease traffic congestion and make commuting much faster and easier. RAI has an innovative approach to a lift and control system for a vertical take off and landing dual mode vehicle.

"We are using 16 counter-rotating propellers within a completely enclosed composite carbon-fiber ducted fan, powered by a 425-horse power jet turbine engine. We are spearheading a new industry in the transportation business. The ducted fan vehicles will be the first compact VTOL capable of 125-150 mph". Josef Obermeier Mundus CEO/President

RAI's goal is to develop and market the world's first commercially successful vertical take off and landing flying vehicle that can drive like a car on the street. It will be able to take off without a runway, and as it nears its destination, be able to land on a small space such as a helipad, roof or roadside, and then driven on existing roads to the final destination.

History In The Making
  • 1990-1995 Roadable Aircraft's first "flying car" prototype won "First Place and Best Invention of the Year" at the Discovery Channel Invention Convention in San Francisco in 1993.
  • 1996-2003 Roadable Aircraft’s second prototype was co-developed with the US Navy and AirStar under a 3-year Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) conducted at Naval Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA between 2001 and 2004 that culminated in a US Patent for VTOL Flying Car. US Navy sponsored RAI VTOL Patents and provided patent attorneys under co-development agreement.
  • 2003 - 2007 RAI’s 3rd prototype, co-developed with strategic partner, AirStar Inc. and US Navy under same CRADA, was a 3⁄4 scale UAV that was built to test the flight controls and remote controllability originally proposed for deployment from Trident missile silos. RAI was the only private company ever to have an operational presence at the US Navy’s secret high tech systems testing range and Naval version of "Skunk Works".
  • 2007 – Present Parts production and the infrastructure development and testing are already underway for the production of the Flyer V1 with patented VTOL Vortex Technology. These vehicles will look and drive like cars and fly like helicopters without the exposed propellers. As designed, the vehicles will be fast, convenient and relatively inexpensive to operate and maintain.
  • 2008 AirStar and Mundus sign agreement to build the next generation of VTOL UAVs as their commercial professional grade Aero Droid and aerial surveillance systems, Aero Intel.
  • 2009 AirStar becomes a fully owned subsidiary of Mundus Group.
